Funeral services for James L Essary 72, retired Rock Island Railroad employee, were held at 2:30 p.m. today at the Campbell-Rupp funeral home, in charge of the Rev. E.L. Simbro. Burial was at Eldon Cemetery.
Mr. Essary died Monday at his home in Eldon. He was born January 10 1872 in Taney County MO, the son of Andrew J. and Cassandra Essary. He had lived in Eldon about 30 years and retired July 31, 1939. He was a member of the Pentecostal church.
Surviving are his wife; seven sons, Matt, John, Ron, Harley, and Albert of Eldon; Harve of Smallett MO, and Richard with the Army in Japan; a daughter Mrs. James Wilson of Eldon; 27 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
