Ottumwa Courier April 22, 1936

Mrs. Jennie Hoffman, 64, widow of John J. Hoffman, Cedar Rapids, died at Mercy Hospital there Monday at 10:20 PM, according to word received here today. She was born December 1, 1871, at Oskaloosa. She had been a resident of Cedar Rapids for 33 years. She was a member of St. James Methodist Episcopal church. Rebekaha and Royal Neighbors of Cedar Rapids. Surviving are one son, W. M. Buchanan of Ottumwa; her mother Mrs. Lucy Brown of Cedar Rapids; and one sister, Mrs. Earl Myers of Moscow Idaho. The body will arrive here at 11:57 PM today. Short funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 PM at the Johnson's funeral Chapel.
