M. Hendren, Aged Farmer Dies Today
Merritt Hendren, 87, Rutledge route 5, died at 9 AM today at his home. For 25 years a resident of Iowa he was born April 15, 1848, in Madison County, Kentucky. He had been a farmer all of his life. Surviving are his wife, Jennie, seriously ill at the home; eight children, Mrs. Neva Tyson, McLean, Illinois; Mrs. Myrtle Littrell, , Illinois; Mrs. Anna West, Indiana; Mrs. Dora Shaub, Tamara, Michigan; Mrs. Susie Ohm, Sanford, Illinois; Mrs. Florence Matthews, Fremont and Chester Hendren, and Mrs. Lillian Potter, both of Ottumwa; 24 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren. The body is at the Daggett funeral home.
