Mrs. H. McDavitt Dies In Ottumwa

Mrs. Hugh McDavitt, 73, former Fairfield resident, died Saturday at the Ottumwa hospital after suffering a stroke last Thursday. Her home was at 210 N. Fellows Ave. in Ottumwa.

Last rites will be held Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. at the Vaughan Funeral home and at 9 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic church. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.

Mrs. McDavitt was born May 12, 1882 in Fairfield, the daughter of Edmond and Margaret Roach. She was married to Hugh McDavitt Oct. 21, 1903.

Surviving are seven sons and two daughters, all of Ottumwa. A brother and a sister also survive. Her husband, two sons, two sisters and six brothers preceded her in death.
