Mrs. Isabell C. Ashen
Mrs. Isabell Caroline Ashen, 80, died at her home, 405 S. Benton St., Sunday at 8 AM. She was the daughter of Frederick and Lydia Peckham and was born in Iowa, December 1, 1855. She had lived in Ottumwa for the last 30 years. Surviving are two sons, Grover Castor of Ottumwa and J. M. Caster of Davenport; two daughters, Mrs. Emma Fuller and Mrs. Dora Ashen both of Ottumwa; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Eikelberry of Mystic, Mrs. Rebecca Milburn of Exline and Mrs. Martha Maine of Colorado; 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren. Her husband, James F. Ashen, preceded her in death five years ago. Funeral services will be held at Johnson's funeral Chapel at 3:30 PM Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. A. D. McClure. Burial be made in Shaul cemetery.
