William F. Harness, 63, died at his home, 244 N. Moore St., at 2 AM today. He had lived in Wapello County and Ottumwa practically all his life. He was the son of John and Lynn Harness and was born in Ormanville, December 1, 1872. He was a member of The Finley Avenue Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Hattie; one daughter, Mrs. Edith Schertz, Ottumwa; two sons, Lee and Roy, both of Ottumwa; six brothers, George and Joe, both of Ottumwa, Irvin of Olathe, Kansas, Herbert of Malcom, Walter of Montezuma, and Gideon of Rhodes; one sister, Mrs. Nellie Lamb Malcom and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in his death by two sisters and his parents. Friends may call at Johnson's funeral Chapel until late tonight with the body will be taken to the residence awaiting completion of funeral arrangements.
