Miss Nedrow Found Dead At Her Home
Miss Gertie Nedrow, 56, was found dead at 9 AM today on the kitchen floor of her home, 634 E. Main St. Suicide by asphyxiation will be certified as the cause of death, Coroner John Drake said. Miss Nedrow’s body was found by her brother, Clem Nedrow, who had gone to her home to see why she had failed to come to work. She had been dead three or four hours when the body was found, it was said. Mrs. Nedrow was a cook at the restaurant run by her sister, Mrs. Flora Reddick, at 820 E. Main St. A possibility of apoplexy was held out because of previous attacks. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Reddick of Ottumwa, and two brothers, Clem of Ottumwa and Don of Selma. Mrs. Nedrow was born in 1879 in Selma and had lived all of her life in this vicinity. The body will be at the Vaughan funeral Chapel pending completion of funeral arrangements.
