Ottumwa Courier January 1, 1936

Nancy Jane Brooks, 79, died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Jennie Goehring, Floris route 2, at 2 AM today. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Anna Gruber of Watseka, Illinois, Mrs. Elizabeth Hampton of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Goehring; three sons, George A. Brooks and Will Brooks, both of Ottumwa and John of Ottumwa route 1, and three sisters, Mrs. Albert Freaygan, Mrs. Will Freaygan, and Mrs. Susanna Holladay, all of Brooklyn, New York. A son, Milton and her husband, George, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be announced later.
