Maxine Batman, 81, of Trinity Center at Luther Park, died of a heart attack there Monday. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Resthaven Cemetery.
Mrs. Batman was born in Ottumwa and had lived in Boone before moving to Des Moines 50 years ago. She was a retired school teacher with the Waukee school system and a member of the Home Builders Auxiliary. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and music.
She is survived by a daughter, Saundra See of West Des Moines; a son, Floyd Thomas of Omaha; a brother, Max Powers of Davenport; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter.
The family will receive friends after 1 p.m. today at McLaren's Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Center at Luther Park.

Contributor's Note: Maxine (Freese) Sires married Walter Batman in 1954. Maxine's 1st husband, Floyd Thomas Sires, died in 1949. He was the father of her children, Saundra Sue and Floyd Thomas. Walter adopted both children.
