MRS. LILLIE CANFIELD

Mrs. Lillie M. Canfield 81; formerly of Ottumwa died at her home at Ord Neb. at 3:45 a.m. Sunday.

She was the daughter of Levi and Charlotta Stringham; born in Indiana June 2, 1866. She was married to John Francis Canfield December 12, 1886 at Kellerton, Iowa. She had been a resident of Ottumwa and vacinity for about 40 years before moving to Nebraska a number of years ago. She was a member of the East End Christian Church.

Surviving are four sons; Palmer Canfield of Erickson, Nebraska, Leslie of Long Beach, Milo of Burbank and Harold of Terminal Island. Also surviving are three daughters; Mrs. Bessie Timmerman of Ord, Mrs. Josephine Johnson of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Dorothea Geseking of Ottumwa; 26 grand children, and 17 great grand children; a brother O.M. Stringham; Jackson, Missouri; and a sister Mrs. Nora Cadd of Rapid City S.D. also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband March 7, 1942 and by a son Hugh, and a daughter Mrs. Lela Schmidt.

Funeral services will be held at Johnson Funeral Home Thursday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. A.J. Ward of the East End Christian Church officiating. Burial we be in the Chisman Cemetery. The body will arive in Ottumwa Wednsday morning and will be taken to the chapel.
