JULIA ANN REARDON DIES: TEACHER FOR 47 YEARS

Miss Julia Ann Reardon 82; retired school teacher died Saturday at 1:25 p.m. at St. Joseph's hospital following a illness of two weeks.

Her home was at 255 North Davis. Miss Reardon taught 47 years in Ottumwa schools including 44 at Irving School. She had taught 42 years without missing a day at school because of illness; then she fell and broke an arm.

She was the daughter of Dennis and Julia Reardon and was born in Ottumwa Oct. 25, 1880. She was a lifelong resident of Ottumwa.

Miss Reardon was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church, the Alter and Rosary Society and National Retired Teachers Association.

Surviving are nine nephews, one niece and 29 great nephews and great nieces. She was preceded in death by four brothers and six sisters.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. at Traul funeral home and at nine o'clock at St. Patrick's Catholic church. The Rev. J.J. Collins; Pastor will celebrate the Requiem High Mass. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Members of the Knights Of Columbus will serve as pallbearers.

Tonight at 8:00 members of St. Patrick's Parish and friends will meet at the funeral home to recite the Rosary.
