Mrs. Clara J. McCoy, 88, died at 11:15 p.m. Friday at her home, 317 North Madison Avenue.
The daughter of James and Hannah Warren King, she was born September 9, 1866 in Kirkville, Iowa. She had spent most of her life in Ottumwa. Her marriage to Albert H. McCoy took place in Wapello County May 21, 1882. He died June 29, 1907. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God.
Surviving are two sons, Earl H. McCoy of Ottumwa and Hugh T. McCoy of Spokane, Washington, a daughter, Mrs. Lois I. Hampshire of Ottumwa; a brother Claude King of Ottumwa; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two daughters, a son, six brothers and two sisters.
The funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel. The Rev. W.B. Friend of the Pentecostal Church will be in charge. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. The Family suggests that donations be made to the cancer fund in her memory.

Pallbearers will be William Blachy, Paul Matthew, Earl Covert, Francis Mullen, Martin Munley and William Hampshire.
