OTTUMWA — Ileen Chidester, 84, of 552 Crestview Ave., died at 3:10 p.m. July 29, 2009, at Hospice House in Ottumwa.She was born July 4, 1925, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Ray and Grace Hawkins Albright. She married Wesley Dorrell Chidester April 19, 1943.A graduate of Blakesburg High School in 1942, she worked at Ottumwa Iron Works and John Deere Ottumwa Works during World War II. She had worked 30 years at the Goodyear Store in Ottumwa retiring as credit manager in 1981.She and her husband spent six months of the year in Ottumwa at their river cabin where she enjoyed growing her garden and flowers. They wintered six months each year in Alamo, Texas, where she enjoyed playing shuffleboard and going to flea markets. They also enjoyed fishing and boating.Surviving is her husband, Wesley Dorrell; two daughters, Sherry (Dennis) Greenfield of Ottumwa and Stephanie Samuelson of West Des Moines; six grandchildren, Lorie (Ron) Baker of Ottumwa, Jon (Kim) Mason of Fairfield and Scott Mason of Kansas City, Mo., Randy (Robin), Robert (Amy) and Cody Greenfield, all of Pueblo, Colo.; seven great-grandchildren, Austin Drummond, Tyler and Leah Baker, Heather and Hunter Mason, Faith and Tyler Greenfield.She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Kermit and Clifford Albright.Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the family present from 3-5 p.m. Memorials may be made to Hospice, P.O.
