Ethel BISHOP

OTTUMWA - Ethel Elberta BISHOP, 77, of 610 Lake Road, died April 16, 2003, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

She was born Jan. 3, 1926, to Floyd Wilson and Beryle Levina RANSOM FERREL at Libertyville. She married Louis A. BISHOP July 11, 1942. He preceded her in death.

She had worked at John Morrell, Hermann's Green House and Earl May, all in Ottumwa. She had been a volunteer at the VA Hospital, Knoxville and Sunnyslope Care Center, Ottumwa.

Survivors include children, Louis A. BISHOP Jr. of Chariton, Mark S. BISHOP of Sioux City, and Peggy A. SIRD of Lantana, Fla., five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Eugene FERREL and Floyd FERREL, both of Ky.; and three sisters, Eleanor HOOTMAN of Burlington, Ederyle ORTERY of Kirkwood, Ill. and Audrey BROWN of Bonaparte.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p. m. Saturday at the Shrine of Memories Funeral Home. Burial will be at Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2 p. m. Friday at the funeral home with the family present 6 to 8 p. m.

A memorial fund has been established.
