Ernest (Jim) Ashen 66, died at the home of his grandaughter Mrs. Vincent Bergman, 615 N. 5th St.today.

Born at Ft. Scott Kansas March 30, 1879; he had lived in Ottumwa for the past 40 years.

Surviving are two sons; Raymond Ashen and Earl Ashen both of Chicago; and four daughters; Mrs. Elenor Miller and Elvira Marshall both of Chicago, Mrs. Dorothy Paisley of Monrovia, Caluifornia and Mrs Ada McElveen of El Paso, Texas. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at Johnson Funeral Home at 3 p.m. Saturday in charge of Rev. A.D. McClure. Burial will be at Shaul Cemetery.
