OTTUMWA — Larry Dean Songer, 58, of 117 N. James St., died at 5:02 p.m. April 30, 2009, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.He was born Oct. 14, 1950, in Ottumwa to Teddy M. and Edith Maxine Sellwood Songer. He married Jennis King Dec. 13, 2003.A graduate of Ottumwa High School in 1969, he had been a resident of Ottumwa all of his life. He was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of Jubilee Bible Church. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Jennis; three sons, Chad (Charity) Songer of Caledonia, Mich., Terry (April) MacQueen and Billy (Denise) MacQueen both of Ottumwa; a daughter, Heather (Nick) Bolin of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Rheese, Lily, Grant, Gabe, Chloe, Whitney, Justin, Mercedes, Gannon, Kyle, Dawson and extended grandchildren Jesse and Clayton; his mother, Edith Maxine Songer of Ottumwa.He was preceded in death by a daughter, Misty Songer; his father, Teddy M. Songer and his twin brother, Garry Lee Songer.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Saylor officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday with the family present from 2-4 p.m. Sunday.Memorials may be made to the family.
