Sarah Lorena Ellis daughter of Jerimiah and Name Mize was born September 27, 1870 in Humphrey County Tennessee.

She died enroute from Des Moines to University Hospital at Iowa City; at the age of 82 years, 11 months and twelve days.

She was united in marriage to John L. Ellis of Eddyville, Wapello County Iowa July 28, 1894. They became parents to five children.

Mrs. Ellis is survived by her husband; a daughter Mrs. W.C. Jenkins of Des Moines; four sons; John of Los Angeles, California, Roy of Des Moines, Homer of Belont, Wisconsin, and Charles of Chicago, Illinois; and 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Ellis lived for many years in Albia before moving to Des Moines. They celebrated their 58th Wedding anniversary last July 28th.

While a resident of Albia, Mrs. Ellis became a member of the Methodist Church.She held membership in the Albia Rebekah Lodge.

Funeral services were at Lewis Funeral Home at Albia September 16th. conducted by the Rev. C.L. Young; burial was at Oakview Cemetery at Albia.
