OTTUMWA — Lola May Cox, 75, of 801 Hutchinson Ave. died Feb. 14, 2008, at her home.She was born May 17, 1932 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Fred Taft and Mabel E. Lee Armstrong. She married Bud J. Cox May 24, 1950. He preceded her in death April 20, 1995.
A resident of Ottumwa all of her life, she worked at S.S. Kresege and at the St. Mary of the Visitation Day Care. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of Americas, the Burlington Railroad Retirees and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include a son, Fred (Andrea) Cox of Springfield, Mo.; a daughter, Debra (Joel) Kelley of Ottumwa; four grandsons; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harley (Midge) Armstrong of Ottumwa.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father John Spiegel officiating. Burial will be in Unionville Cemetery in Unionville, Iowa.Visitation will begin after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Reece Funeral Home. A Christian Wake service will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home followed by family visitation until 7 p.m.A memorial has been established to St. Patrick Catholic Church.
