GRANDFATHER - GRANDDAUGHTER DIE SAME DAY
Former Resident of This County and Three Months Baby Stricken at Same Time

Something rather unusual occurred in the death of Mr. (Oliver) Strunk and his granddaughter; Morieta Mae Joiner, age three months, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Joiner of Agency. Both grandfather and granddaughter took sick the same day and died the same day after ten days' sickness. The little granddaughter's funeral service was held yesterday afternoon at two o'clock at the Methodist church in Agency, conducted by the Rev. Childs. Burial followed in the Eldon cemetery.

Oliver Strunk, son of Franklin and Jane Strunk, was born in Appanoose county, Ia., near Unionville, August 4, 1876. Departed this life at his home in Walnut, Ill. Monday, Nov. 30, 1931, aged 55 years. He is survived by his second wife, his first wife dying March 27, 1926; five sons and four daughters, Jake, Emil, Paul and Frank all of Walnut, Ill., and Henry of Marseilles, Ill.; Mrs. C. R. Joiner of Agency, Mrs. Joe McNally of Marseilles, Ill., Mrs. P. M. Loomis and Marjorie of Eldon, also the following brothers and sisters; William of Moran, Kans., Gladys Hunt of Rockford, Ill., Mary Campbell and Bert of Centerville, Ia., Mrs. Cora Smith, Roy and Logan all of Unionville, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Marie aged 11 years. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at Eldon conducted by the Rev. Luther Childs, pastor of the local First Baptist church. Interment will be made in the Eldon cemetery.
