Mrs. Elsie E. Simpson 73 of 734 Grove died Wednesday at 6:45 at Sunnyslope Extended Care Center following an illness of one month.
She was a Matron at the Ottumwa Coliseum, serving for about ten years before retiring. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and I. B. F. C. A. of W.
She was born May 30, 1868 at Fredon, Mo; the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chancellor. She married William Simpson in 1919. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include five sons; Charles Simpson, of Chicago, Ill., Robert and John of Milwaukee, William Simpson of Detroit, and Donald Simpson of Ottumwa; three daughters; Miss Virginia Simpson Mrs. Marjorie Manley of Ottumwa and Mrs. Francis Tomkins of Akron, Ohio; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The later Father Allen Simpson was her son.
The funeral will be Friday at 10:00 am. at Sacred Heart Church with the Rev. R.J. Murphy celebrating a Requiem Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The rosary will be recited today at 8:00 PM. at Traul Funeral Home.
