Dorothy Mae Hodson Seager 1915~2007

Dorothy Mae Hodson Seager died Jan. 30, 2007 at the age of 91 years and nine month's at her daughter's West Jordan, Utah home. She died of advanced Alzheimer's disease, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 7, 1915 on her parent's farm of Eldon, Iowa, to Jesse Lynn Hodson and Myrtle Anna Price. She was reared and educated in Iowa, graduating from Ottumwa High School. She entered nurse's training at Kansas City General Hospital, where she obtained her R.N. Degree in 1936. In 1938 she traveled west and worked at hospitals in Twin Falls Hospital, Idaho; St. Mark's Hospital in SLC; Bingham Canyon, Utah; and Rio Tinto, Nevada where she met and later married Dr. Tyrrell R. Seager on Dec. 20, 1940 in Reno, Nevada. Their marriage was later sealed in the SLC Temple on April 24, 1967. After World War II, Dr. and Mrs. Seager moved to Vernal, Nevada where they made their permanent residence.

Dorothy was a wonderful housewife and mother. She was active in the LDS church, serving as 2nd counselor in the Relief Society and teaching the Guide Patrol Boys. Like every good woman behind the man, she stood by her husband's commitment to the community and his love for the out of doors. Her life was dedicated to her family and the ideal of friendship and love. This dedication brought her the greatest joy and meant the most to her all through her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Dr. Tyrell R. Seager; a son, Tyrell Robert Seager; two sisters, Madelyn L. Manning & Helen M. Spear; and by two brothers, Robert L. and Harold P. Hodson. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kara and John and two grandchildren, Tony and Rachel of W. Jordon, Utah.

At her request a short viewing and service will be held at Garden Gove Ward on 9000 S. 1925 W. at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2nd. Burial will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park in SLC, Utah in Gilcrest Park II.
