My Grandfather and father of my mother Ollie Sellwood Lanigan.

Maley L. (Louis)Sellwood was born Malen Lensford Adams in La Cross Wisconsin. His mother abandoned the children and he was put up for adoption in Ottumwa, Iowa. His natural father was Lensford Adams and his natural mother was Sarah Bonner of McGregor; Clayton County Iowa. He was adopted by the Sellwood family.Grandpa had a half brother Francis Sellwood.

Maley L. Sellwood 36 of Guggerty street, died at his home Monday at 10:55 AM.

He was the son of Herman and Ella Sellwood and was born in La Crosse Wisconsin on April 06, 1902. He had lived in Ottumwa for the last 14 years. He was employed at John Morrell & Co.

Surviving are his wife, Helen; three daughters; Ollie, Maxine and Mabel Lou Sellwood; two sons, James and Maley Jr; his parents Herman and Ellen Sellwood of Agency; a sister Mrs. Mabel Hanford of Glenwood and two brothers; Charles Adams of Ottumwa and Francis Sellwood of Knoxville.

He was preceded in death by one son, Charles Sellwood.

Services will be in Johnson's funeral chapel at Ottumwa Wednesday at 1:30 pm, conducted by the Rev. A.D. McClure. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery.
