OTTUMWA- HERMAN D. ORMAN 80, of Bettendorf, Iowa and formerly of Ottumwa,Iowa, died July 25, 2002 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus.
He was born May 07, 1922, in Ottumwa,Iowa to THOMAS and SARAH CHRISTIE ORMAN. He married JJACQUELINE "Gladys" KELLY Feb. 02, 1952 in Ottumwa,Iowa. She died in 1996.
He was employed by the city of LeClaire, retiring in 1984. He was a World War 11 Veteran of the U.S. Army ,and was awarded two Overseas Service Bars, the American Campaign Medal; the European African Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon, with two Bronze Battle Stars, the Good Conduct Medal and the World War 11 Victory Medal. He was a member of the Ottumwa VFW Post No. 775.
Surviving are daughters; REBECCA ERVIN and ANDREA GRUPE of Pleasant Valley; sons DAN of LeClaire, BRUCE of Belleville, Neb., and ROY of Warren, Minn; nine grandchildren; sisters PHYLLIS STAUB of Ottumwa,Iowa and BARBARA HAWKINS of Floris,Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be 12:15 pm today at Glendale Cemetery, LeClaire.
Visitation will be 10 am to noon today in Nelson Heesch funeral Home.
