Funeral services for Penny Lee Bjork, 48, of Ottumwa and former Toledo resident, were held Tuesday, September 14, at the Johnson Funeral Chapel in Ottumwa. Father Bernie Weir officiated. Burial was in Roseville distict cemetery in Roseville, Calif.
She was born to Leelan and Rita Bell Thompson on June 12, 1956, in Roseville, California. She graduated from Roseville high school. While residing in Toledo, she was employed for a long time at King Tower Cafe in Tama. More recently, she had worked for Kathy and Sam Alau at Riverside restaurant for the past seven years.
Bjork died Thursday, September 9, 2004, at her home. In lieu of flowers the family requested donor make contributions to their favorite charity in her name.
Preceeding her in death were her father Leeland Thompson, and a brother Jerry Thompson.
She is survived by her fiance, Dennis Lower; her mother, Rita Plummer, of Roseville; one son Christopher, of Virginia; two brothers, Tommy Thompson, of Roseville and Terry Thompson of Des.Moines; and two grandchildren.
Johnson Funeral Chapel, Ottumwa, handled arrangements.
