BLAKESBURG NEWS
N. (NELS) P. PETERSON of Blakesburg, died on Sunday, Nov 1st and was buried at Munterville,Iowa on Monday. The funeral service was conducted at the Swedish Lutheran church by the pastor Rev. Anderson. MR. PETERSON was about 80 years old and on last Wednesday he climbed into his hay mow and fell headlong to the floor. The scalp was terribly lacerated and he sustained other injuries. Drs. Udell and Ray gave what medical and surgical aid they could, but the poor old man could not be saved from death. Another good, quiet, honest and peaceable citizen is gone and a large circle of relatives, friends, and acquaintances mourn his loss and express the deepest sympathy for the age wife who yet remains.

COMMENT: NELS P. PETERSON was a farmer who died at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 1, 1891, age 80 years, 4 months, 22 days. He was born in Sweden on April 16, 1811 and lived in Iowa 36 years. His first wife, MARY ANDERSON, died in Sweden when their daughter, EMMA, was very young; perhaps under age 10. Upon coming to America, NELS P. married CAROLINE (surname unknown). To this union were born two children: HANNAH C (MRS. JACOB PETERSON of Blakesburg). and MARY L. (MRS. CHARLES L. JOHNSON of Wisconsin).
