Ottumwa - DONALD LEONARD McCARTY 80, formerly of 441 S. Ward Street died at 3:50 AM January 14, 2002 at Osceola Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born March 04, 1921 to THOMAS and ROSABELLE MARKS McCARTY. He married MARJORIE M. HARTLEY HAINES on September 18, 1962. She preceded him in death March 20, 1999.

Surviving are daughters; BECKY BAKER and JANE CONLEY of Ottumwa,Iowa; a son, DANIEL of Ottumwa,Iowa; a stepson MIKE HAINES of Tuscombia, Mo; 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a sister NORMA BRIGGS of Ottumwa,Iowa.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Wednesday, January 16 at Reece funeral Home with Craig Payne officiationg. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.

Visitation will be open 1pm today Tuesday in the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Don Briggs, Pete Sieren, Jeff Kranz, Ron Mccarty, Scott McCarty and Sean Mccarty.

*Family of my grandmother Ollie MCarty.I believe that Donald also had another wife by the name of Frances Elaine Burton.
