Courier celebrates 155th birthday.

Today, August 08, 2003, some 50,000 press runs later, our press crew ran off another edition to leave at your doorsteps by 6 a.m.

We remain Ottumwas longest running business. We like to say "the news starts here". Actually the news started here, at the Courier 155 years ago today. Impressive, isn't it?

The Ottumwa Courier newspaper ran off its first edition on August 08, 1848. Through the years, our name has changed, but we are still the same business, that of a newspaper bringing you the news and advertising to make your life more informed and more enjoyable.
