Chester W. Whitmore
Senator from the Thirteenth district, comprising Wapello county. Was born at Burlington, Iowa, January 11, 1869. Lawyer of twenty years general practice. Married. Elected senator in 1914, and served in the Thirty-sixth and Thirty-seventh general assemblies; re-elected in 1918. His father, Francis S. Whitmore, was a Union veteran of the Civil war. Military service, four years in Company "G" Fifty-fourth regiment, Iowa National Guard. In the war with the German Empire had a son, Kenneth S. Whitmore, quartermaster on U.S.S.S. von Steuben; and stepson, Frank W. Hook, in artillery officers' training school at Louisville. A republican in politics.
