CORA LEE PERKINS, daughter of Robert B. and Samantha Perkins, was born in Bonaparte township, Van Buren county, Iowa, Dec. 28, 1874. She grew to womanhood in this community. She graduated from the Bonaparte high school in the class of 1893. She died Oct. 24th, 1894, aged 19 years, 9 months and 26 days. She leaves to mourn her loss, her mother, a step-father, one step-brother and one step-sister, her father having died Aug. 17, 1877.
She was an industrious girl, and by her superior qualities won to herself many friends. The funeral services were conducted at her late home, Friday Oct. 26, by Rev. G. W. Barber, of Eldon.
The following named members of the Bonaparte Alumni Association (of which the deceased was a member) escorted the remains to the grave: Misses Dora Cresap, Georgia Boyer, Clara Beck, Myrtle Entler, Percy Humphryes, Maggie Beck, Nelly Jones and Maggie Stebbins. The pall bearers were: Geo. Eich, Nelson Hunter, Rannie Story, B. E. Whitmore, G. H. Welch, and Jas. Horn[end of column, name cut off]
