MRS. SCOTT HUMBERT
Sarah Ellen Taylor, daughter of Martha C. and Noble John Taylor, was born in Milton Sept. 28, 1874, and passed away at her home in Milton Nov. 11, 1926; aged 52 years, 1 month and 14 days.
On August 10, 1892, she was united in marriage to Scott L. Humbert at the home of her parents in Milton and to this union three children were born, Mary Ethel, Elva Gail and Ellis Scott, all of whom were with her during her illness and at the time of her death.
Those left to mourn her death are husband and son Ellis of Milton; and daughters and son-in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Workman of Dallas, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Snyder and children, Virginia Gail and Vivian Joy of Ft. Madison; a sister, Mrs. E. M. Lank of La Crosse, Kansas; a half sister, Mrs. Mary Firkins of Nodaway, Iowa, and a half brother, George of Milton, besides other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church Sunday, Nov. 14th at 2 p. m., conducted by Rev. H. F. Gilbert. The officers of the Rebekah Lodge gave their burial ritual, and the Past Noble Grand officers had places around the casket during the service. The high school foot ball team attended the services in a body, out of respect to their captain, Ellis Humbert. Many beautiful flowers were sent by friends and relatives. The burial took place in Sunnyside cemetery.
