Henry Detwiler, a former resident of Bonaparte died at the home of his daughter, Elizabeth Castor, Bristow, Iowa.
He was born in Fayette county, Pa., Oct. 20, 1826 and died at the age of 80 years and 22 days.
He was by occupation a carpenter and at one time owned the place now occupied by Mrs. Wm. Robinson in Harrisburg township. Later he moved to Des Moines and kept a grocery store.
Besides the above named daughter he is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Maria Dutton of Des Moines which was for the past five years the place where he made his home.
Death was caused by cancer. Interrment was made at Des Moines from the Advent church.
