Ben Delker

Ben Delker, 68, of near Farmington, died Saturday, Nov. 26, at 12:05 p.m. in the Burlington hospital. He had been in failing health for some time but had been seriously ill only the last ten days.

Mr. Delker was born Nov. 12, 1892 northeast of Farmington in Van Buren county, son of John and Emma Van Seggen Delker. He had been a lifelong resident of the vicinity and was a farmer.

He married Lorena Evans in Ottumwa, Jan. 1, 1917. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Stanley of Farmington and Melvin of Arlington, Va.; one daughter, Evelyn White of Farmington; one sister, Mrs. Elsie Chaney of Bonaparte; one brother, Wilbert of Farmington and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Alvie and one grandson.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29 from the Farmington Methodist church with the Rev. M. Ellsworth Walker officiating. Burial was in Greenglade cemetery.
