Mrs. Finnette McComb.
Finette Haskins Smith was born in Hanover, Chautauqua Co., New York, May 25, 1835, removed to Summit Co., Ohio, when about 5 years of age, and removed to Lyden Co. Wis., in 1840 where she grew to womanhood.
She was married to John McCain Feb. 22, 1856, in Fondulac, Wis. To this union were born three daughters, viz. Mrs. Ida A. White of Iliff, Colo., Julia and Amy McCain. Her husband John McCain, died in Evansville, Ind., July 16, 1862.
She removed to Iowa in 1863; was married to Thomas McComb March 27, 1871, and to this union was born one son, George B. McComb of Harrisburg township, Van Buren county Iowa. Mr. McComb, her husband, died in 1876. She united with the Bonaparte Baptist Church in 1868 and remained a consistent member of the same until her death, Dec. 15, 1910, age 75 yrs. 6 mo. and 30 days.
Mrs. McComb also leaves to mourn, a sister, Mrs. H.S. Justice of Hutchison, Kansas, six grandchildren, and three great grand children.
She had made her home for several years with her brother, W.E. Smith, and was quite ill at the time of the death of Mr. Smith about a month ago. She went to the home of her son, George, as soon as possible and it was from there that her spirit took flight.
Funeral services were held at the Harrisburg Baptist church Saturday, conducted by her pastor, Rev. T.L. Smith, with burial in the Vale cemetery.
