Dorothy Jean Muntz, 82, of Farmington, Iowa passed away Friday, July 4, 2014 at her home.

Born November 21, 1931 in West Point, Iowa, she was the daughter of Albert and Blanche Humphrey Kutcher. On May 28, 1950 she married Keith L. Muntz in Farmington, Iowa. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2012.

Survivors include; her mother, Blanche Kutcher of Kahoka, Missouri, one daughter Kathy (Ross) O'Day of Farmington, Iowa, two sons Kent (Lesa) Muntz of Farmington, Iowa, Curt (Sue) Muntz of Muscatine, Iowa, eight grandchildren Kristi (Dave) Bruner of Kirksville, Missouri, Clint (Tami) O'Day of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Kaci (Jesse) Goldstein of Ankeny, Iowa, Kristopher Muntz of Burlington, Iowa, Mason Muntz of Ames, Iowa, Amanda Muntz of Chicago, Illinois, Rebecca Muntz of Ames, Iowa, Adam Muntz of Muscatine, Iowa. Eight great-grandchildren, sister, Esther Weaver of Farmington, Iowa, three sister-in-laws; Louise Rider of Farmington, Iowa, Elouise (Rex) Syfert of Keosauqua, Iowa, Frances Muntz of Farmington, Iowa.

Dorothy was a member of the Farmington United Methodist Church, PEO and Farmington Cemetery Association. She was a graduate of Farmington High School in 1950 where one of her biggest highlight was playing in the state basketball tournament. She was co-owner of Muntz and Kutcher Grocery Store for 20 years and Muntz Farm Supply for 12 years. Dorothy loved cooking, camping and playing cards with friends and family. Her family was her life where they will remember her great food and cherish all the family gatherings at her home. Holidays with family and grandkids coming home were what she loved.

Visitation will be from 1:00-7:00pm at the Farmington United Methodist Church Monday evening, July 7th. Family will be present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 8th at the United Methodist Church, Farmington, Iowa with Pastor Goldie Laymon officiating. Burial will be at the Greenglade Cemetery, Farmington, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials made to Farmington United Methodist Church, The Food Pantry, or donor's choice.

Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Farmington, Iowa is in charge of the arrangements.
