Deaths

Walker-At the residence of Allen Stevens in Washington township, Decemnber 17th 1887 aged 85 years, 1 mo, and13 days.

Deceased was born in Butler county, Ohio, Nov. 4, 1802. He came to Iowa in 1850, and settled in Van Buren county where he resided until his death. In 1840 he identified himself with the Masonic fraternity, and was one of the charter members of the Bentonsport Lodge of that order, which was organized in 1854.

Funeral services were held at the residence of Mr. Stevens, conducted by Rev. Pool, pastor of the M.E. chuyrch assisted by C. W. Wilson of Nernan on Monday at 10 o'clock a.m. The ritual of the Masonic order was observed in the burial services. The remains were interred in the Bentonsport cemetery.
