Mrs. Batchelor, residing south of Bonaparte died Monday, January 5th, and was buried Wednesday.

In Memoriam.

The subject of this memoriam, Mrs. Catherine Batchelor, nee R*msey, was born in Dundee, Scotland , September 30th, 1820. Moved to England in 1833, and was married to her present husband, George Batchelor, April 18th, 1841. Moved to the United States in 1843, and landed in the city of New York in December of that year. Moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1851, and to Iowa in 1872?, on the farm where they have lived ever since.

Eight children were born to bless the home. Three have passed on ahead of the mother, five remaining. Three are living at or near the homestead and two daughters in Oregon.

Mr. and Mrs. Batchelor united with the church in New England in 1841. After arriving in Iowa they united with the Presbyterian church, where they have remained ever since.

At her death she was 70 years, 3 months and 5 days old.
