Horton G. Kelley

Horton G. Kelley died at his home in Farmington, Iowa, Thursday January 3, 1907, of pneumonia. He was ill but three or four days.

Mr. Kelley was born in Putnam county, New York, December 25, 1833, and came with his parents to Van Buren county in 1843 locating at Farmington.

He went to California in 1855 but returned and in 1859 married Martha A. Slaughter. To them were born five sons and two daughters.

He was a successful farmer and stock raiser but during the past ten years has been in the hardware business in Farmington, being the senior member of the firm Kelley & Grimm, Kelley & Neal, and now known as Kelley & Co. He was well known as an honest, peaceful, successful man.
