--Mrs. Margaret Willits, of Willits, Cal., died suddenly on Oct. 30, Mrs. Willits was a sister of Mr. W. J. Johnson and Mrs. S. C. Christy of Bonaparte and Mr. T. B. Johnson of Willits. About the first of August Mrs. Willits and Mr. Johnson visited their Bonaparne (sic) friends and the former and Mrs. Chrity (sic) visited here a couple days with Mrs. Geo. F. Smith. On August 25, Mrs Willit(sic) and Mr. Johnson started back to California, arriving there the following Tuesday and writing back they were well and had injoyed (sic) the journey very must.(sic) Friday last a dispatch was received that Mrs. Willits had died on the 13th. She was apperently (sic) in excellent health when here. The cause of her death has not yet been learned. She went overland to California in 1850, and on account of the illness of her husband drove the ox team most of the way. However they were successful, and had lived in affluence for many years.

Note: death date October 30 or the 13th? Obituary is contradictory.
