Gilbert - William Henry:--at his parents home in Bonaparte, Tuesday, Aug. 2, 1887, aged 26 years and 21 days.
Deceased was the eldest child and only son of Aaron and Agnes Gilbert, born July 11, 1861. He was married to miss Stella Cresswell Aug. 16th, 1882. To this union were born two children, a girl and a boy. Little Zoe, but little over a year old, preceded her papa to the glory world. Baby Harry, a bright little fellow nearly a year old, is spared to comfort the bereaved wife and mother.
A few hours before he died he gave a clear evidence and testimony of having accepted Jesus as his Savior. He called his friends and relatives to his bedside one at a time bidding them good bye and leaving with each good words of counsel, warning the unsaved to beware of the danger and turn to the Lord. The glory of the Lord was manifested in a most wonderful manner, and impressions were made on minds which can never be erased.
Funeral services were held at the Baptist church by C. L. Custer. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community.
