Olive Wing Lumb 1830 - 1900

Olive Marella Wing was born in Unadilla, Otsego County, New York, August 3, 1830. She grew to womanhood in her native state and was married to Lewis Lumb, in Utica, New York, July 29, 1860. They moved to Lacon, Illinois, in 1866, and from Illinois to Lawrenceburgh, Indiana in January, 1868. From there they moved to Warsaw, Illinois, thence to Alton, Illinois and from there on March 6, 1872 they came to Bonaparte, Iowa, where they have made their home continuously. She leaves to mourn their loss her companion, one daughter and one brother. When young she united with the Methodist Episcopal church, and always found comfort in the promises of her Savior. She died on Monday, August 13, 1900, aged 70 years and 10 days.

The funeral services were held at her late residence Wednesday afternoon, August 15, 1900, conducted by Rev. G. W. Barber, of Farmington.
