R. B. SKIRVIN, 87, well known Van Buren County farmer, died yesterday afternoon at his farm home 3 miles n.w. of Birmingham. Behner Funeral Home. Burial in Batavia Cemetery.

Born Sept. 27, 1863, at Indianola, Iowa, son of the late Henderson and Susan MARTIN SKIRVIN; married Jan. 23, 1907, Nellie May COPELAND, at Fairfield. Farmer all his life. Member Christian Church at Bladensburg, Iowa. He had made his home in the Birmingham community for the past 22 years.

Survived by wife and six children: Edwin, Leonard and Lewis all of Birmingham; Merwin of Fairfield; Mrs. Ruth ORRIS, Lockridge; and Darrell, serving with the U.S. Armed Forces in Japan. Preceded by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.
