Jacob Fritsinger was born in Wayne county, Ohio, March 20, 1822, and died at his home in Bonaparte, Iowa, June 5, 1896.

He was married to Miss Catherine Eby, March 12, 1846. They moved to the state of Iowa in 1848, where his wife died February 12, 1880.

On July 5th, 1880 he was married to his second wife, Mary Catherine Weir. To this union there were born two sons. She died October 19th, 1884.

On August 29th, 1885, he was married to Flora Pender, and to this union were born four children, George, Freddie, Mary and Craig.

He united with the Baptist church January 1, 1861, and was appointed deacon August 22, 1881. He lived faithful until the end.

He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, three sons and one daughter. One son, two stepsons and one adopted son have gone before him.

His funeral was conducted by his pastor, Rev. Shepherd, at the Baptist church at one o'clock Sunday, June 7, 1896. The funeral sermon was preached from the text found in Rev. 7:17.
