HARRY J. DODDS

Harry J. Dodds, oldest son of John F. and Sally
Keck Dodds, was born in Harrisburg Township, Van Buren County, Iowa, on Sept. 24, 1882. He passed away at 11:40 Monday evening, June 11, 1962 at the Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua.
Although he had been in failing health for a number of years his last illness was of short duration.
On Sept. 2, 1908, he was united in marriage with
Minnie M. Morrison, who survives. Three children were born to this union. They are Kenneth M. Dodds of Ft. Smith, Ark.; Mrs. Charles (Hillys) Mosier of Columbus, Nebr., and Mrs. Francis (Elnore) Starr of Clinton, Iowa.
He is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Two grandsons preceded him in death. A sister, Mrs. Mary Barker of Keosauqua and two brothers, Ralph of Harrisburg township and Donald of Santa Ana, Calif., also survive, together with a large number of other relatives.
When a young man Harry united with the Harrisburg Baptist Church, later transferring his membership to the First Baptist Church of Bonaparte.
Almost his entire life was spent in Van Buren County where he was employed by the Highway Department for more than thirty years, until failing health prevented this type of work. Harry was a neighbor who was always ready to render kindly assistance in the time of need. He was a devoted husband and father and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

We wish to thank everyone for their many acts of kindness, for letters, cards, flowers and calls. Also those who sent in food. It was all very much appreciated.
