Willamae Wagaman, 79 of Des Moines, died of a neurological disorder Sunday [October 1, 2000] at Hospice Kavanagh House. Services will be at 11 a.m. [Oct. 4, 2000] at Grace Un. Methodist Church of which she was a member. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery [Des Moines, IA].
Mrs. Wagaman was born in Van Buren County and had lived in Des Moines since 1941. She was a retired agency clerk at National Travelers Life Insurance Co. and had worked at the Ordance Plant during World War II. She was a member of Des Moines Women's club, Blank Hospital Guild, United Methodist Women and Elizabeth Circle. She enjoyed flowers, volunteering, helping others and spending time with friends and neighbors.
She is survived by a daughter Tammy Graham of Des Moines; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis.
[Note: Willamae (Cox) Wagaman's Birth Certificate states her name is Willa May Cox - Book 6, Page 38; and states her parents are Orin Gilbert Cox and Losie Lucille Nichols [Cox] of Van Buren County; Sister, Reva. Brothers: Richard Orin Cox and Eugene Dale Cox. Willamae married Lewis A. Wagaman of Des Moines]. Orin G. Cox is a brother to my grandmother, Carrie Cox Murphy.
