James Thompson JACK, born McCounellsville, Ohio July 30, 1842, died in Ft. Madison May 23, 1909. He came with his parents to Iowa in 1857 & settled in Van Buren County. On Oct 3, 1872 he married Miss Jerina SHEPHERD who died 10/17/1889. They had two children, Nathan Eugene JACK of Ft. Madison and Mrs. Frank McGAVIC of Decatur, IL. In 1892 he moved to Ft. Madison where a few years later he married Miss Rachel MARTIN who with the 2 children and 3 grandchildren are left.
