Carol Stearns Newcomer

Carol Stearns Newcomer, 58, of Scottsdale, Arizona died at 4:45 p.m. December 6, 1992 at her home after a lengthy illness.

She was born July 16, 1934 in Fairfield to William and Erma Elsensohn Stearns, and grew up in the Mt. Zion community southwest of Libertyville. She graduated from Fairfield high School and Parsons College, and had been a teacher, social worker and homemaker. She lived many years in Des Moines before moving to Arizona.

Surviving are a daughter, Amy Newcomer, a son, Ned Newcomer, both of Scottsdale, Arizona, her mother, Erma Driskill, and step-father, Bill Driskill, 9356 Fareway Blvd., Sun Lakes, Arizona 85248, a brother, Bill Stearns, Lake Havasu City, Arizona, two nephews, Doug and David Stearns, Lake Havasu City, Arizona, an aunt, Madelyn Carr, Cantril and several cousins.

Funeral services were held at Messinger Funeral Home, Scottsdale with Dr. and Mrs. Miller of Des Moines in charge.

Memorials may be made to charity of donor's choice.
