OBITUARIES

P. O. MARTIN (with photograph of him)

P. O. Martin, 81 [could be 84], of 1433 Wilson Ave., died at the Iowa Soldiers' Home in Marshalltown of a heart attack Tuesday after a three year illness.

Born at Union, Neb., he lived in Des Moines 53 years and previously, at Keosauqua. He was a graduate of Keosauqua High School and had retired as an employe at the Iowa State Historical Building. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Baldwin Patterson Post, American Legion. He was a member of the Catholic Church.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Ambrose Cathedral, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens. A rosary will be recited at 7 o'clock tonight at Caldwell Brien-Robbins Funeral Home.

Survivors are his wife, Ruth; a brother, William of Des Moines, and two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Metier and Mrs. Helen Ingram, both of Des Moines.

Name of newspaper and date of obit not given, however handwritten on the obit is "10-7-70". Also handwritten is "Bk 1 pg 40" and "10-6" is written next to death day of Tuesday.)
