Fenton D. Jones, 66, of Fremont, Calif., died 7:11 p.m. Oct. 11, 1991, from injuries sustained in a two car accident at the Brookville Corner in Jefferson County.

He was born June 24, 1925, in Douds to George Elmer and Grace Lillian Miller Jones. He married Delores Marcene Wyckoff Aug. 21, 1949, in Fairfield.

He grew up near Cantril, graduating from high school in Chicago, Ill. He had lived in California since 1958. He was a retired teacher and had served in World War II in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Michael Allan of Niles, Calilf.; a daughter, Jody Jones Whetsel of Sedelia, Colo.; two grandchildren; two sisters, Donna Kaczek of Oxnard, Calif., and Jeanne Shinn of Kansas City, Mo.; and a brother, Kevin of Connecticut.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, LeRoy Jones; and two sisters, Mary L. Jones and Ellen Jones.

The body has been cremated.

A memorial service was held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, 1991 at Fremont Chapel of the Roses in Fremont, Calif.

A memorial has been established to place a bench in a park near the family home. The address is: 41506 Chadbourne Drive, Fremont, Calif. 94538.

Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield was in charge of arrangements.
