Frank D. Slocum

Frank D. Slocum, 65, of Cantril died at 6:40 a.m. August 16, 1991, at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

He was born May 3, 1926, in Bible Grove, Missouri to Bert and Donna Evans Slocum. He married Lois Rosenbalm on April 8, 1950, in Monmouth, Illinois.

He was a retired maintenance supervisor for Burlington Northern Railroad and also had farmed near Mount Sterling. He moved to Cantril in 1987.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Brian of Kahoka, Mo.; three daughters, Pat Newlon of Stockport, Pamela Mitchell of Fairfield and Penny Underdahl of Minneapolis, Minn.; seven grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; a brother, Max of Memphis, Mo.; a sister, Irene Hammond of Donnellson; his step-mother, Betty Slocum of Canton, Mo., and a step-brother, Larry Glenn Slocum of Coralville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Rodney and Bruce.

The service was held at 1 p.m. Monday, August 19, 1991 at Mount Sterling United Methodist Church, the Rev. Kim Eanes officiating. Burial was in Slocum Cemetery near Greensburg, Missouri.

Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Mount Sterling United Methodist Church and left at the funeral home.
