Dorothy E. Sullivan

Dorothy E. Sullivan, daughter of Charles and Julia Todd Heald, was born July 23, 1908 in Scotland County, Missouri south of Mt. Sterling, Iowa and died the evening of Monday, January 8, 1990 at University Hospital, Iowa City, at the age of 81.

She grew up in Scotland County and graduated from Downing, Missouri High School.

On August 31, 193o she married James H. Sullivan in Chicago. They lived in the Chicago area until retiring to Keosauqua in 1979.

Survivors are her husband, a son, Richard of West Chicago, Illinois, two daughters, Patricia Shipps, Lisle, Illinois and Joyce Marrandino, Bonaparte, eight grandchildren, six grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Three brothers, Russell, Raymond and Howard Heald, three sisters, Marjorie Curry, Maude McElroy and Helen Dowling, and a granddaughter, Sharon Lee Shipps preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Thursday, January 11, 1990 at 2 p.m. at Pedrick Funerahl Home, Keosauqua, with Rev. Andrew Rubenking officiating. Interment was in Harness Cemetery near Mt. Sterling. A memorial was established for Van Buren County Memorial Hospital.
